New drawing – no title yet…ideas?

I’ve just finished this drawing of 12 figures layered on top of each other. I’m looking forward to getting it framed. I haven’t decided on a title yet – I’m thinking ‘Rise’ but am not 100% on this…ideas? It’s wood-burning pen on watercolour paper, about 70 x 30 cm.

Last drawing for Open Studios

This the last drawing I’ve made for Open Studios – I have 20 wood-burning pen on paper drawings on show, 40 cards and 10 watercolour ink life drawings. Two weeks to go – I’m really looking forward to repainting my studio this week, hanging all the framed work, and hanging all the cards on rows of shelves.

I’ve been making cards again for Open Studios from life drawing classes. I’ve drawn with watercolour ink on coloured and patterned tissue paper. I like to keep the figures simple in contrast to the busy backgrounds.

New drawing!

I have been working on this drawing for the last few days. I wanted to find a way of drawing two sets of movement, but where the figure starts and ends in the same pose. In this drawing, the starting pose is in the middle, and then the figure moves off to the left on a journey of broken down movement, going up and around, ending by standing facing the viewer. The second movement is where she starts crouched down in the middle of the paper, and then moves off to the right.
